Introducing the first pattern from Octavia Patterns – the Pomegranate Tee! I am so in love with the delicate floatiness of this top and am definitely going to be adding more to my wardrobe.
I was very excited when Jodie chose me to be part of the testing team for her first pattern release. The Pomegranate Tee is a simple cowl neck t-shirt which is cut on the bias to give it the lovely drape around the neckline. The pattern only contains 3 pieces, the front, back & a back facing making it a very simple construction. Cutting a fabric on the bias can make sewing a little bit trickier depending on your fabric choice as the fabric has a lot more stretch.
I picked up this stunning floral rayon from the remnant bin at Spotlight a few weeks before I was sent this pattern. Inspired by the floral sample version, I knew this fabric would be the perfect pairing with this top. You need something that will drape nicely without having too much of an open weave, so rayon works perfectly.
Construction wise this top is very easy. I made this and my Chestnut Top from Cocowawa Crafts in 1 day and it could easily become a 1 hour sew.
I cut the smallest size 6 and am really happy with the fit.
I am so in love with the cowl neck feature. It really is a beautiful addition and I think it works really well with this print.
Overall I am very pleased with this top and will be making more to add into my wardrobe especially as we are now in Spring!
