Oh hey it’s been a while! I have been so busy with life lately. Lots of exciting things are happening but it has meant my spare time has been spent working not sewing.
I am so in love with this month’s #sewmystyle pattern – the Darling Ranges Dress from Megan Neilson Patterns. It is a gorgeous simple Shirt Dress with a gathered waist and elasticated sleeves.
I picked up this polka dot cotton from an Instagram fabric destash a while ago and wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted to use it for. It is a quilting weight cotton but I think it still works well in this dress.
I made a size xxs and it fits me well everywhere except the neckline. I will be taking in the shoulder seams (when I get a chance!) Thank you to the lovely people who offered advice about this.
Annoyingly I also cut it a little bit short! I had to leave it as a 1 inch hem instead of 2. I will be leaving it longer for my next version.
Construction wise this was such and easy sew. With no collar or sleeve placards it didn’t take a lot of time to put together.
I will definitely be making another one of these out of the floral fabric I have used for the lining of my pockets. I am very excited to see everyones versions! xx
