I already know that the Clémence Skirt from Tilly & The Buttons is going to become my go to summer skirt pattern. Why? Come on…how cute is it! And it is such an easy sew.
I actually wasn’t a huge fan of the lemon trend when it first came on the scene. Who on earth would want to wear lemons!! Then I came across this gorgeous Art Gallery fabric on the Bebeloush Designs website and instantly fell in love. It took me a little while to purchase however as I wasn’t exactly sure what I would do with it. And then Bebeloush had a 30% off sale and I just couldn’t resist it anymore!
When I put the feelers out to my Instagram followers on what I should make there were so many good suggestions! However someone suggested the Clémence Skirt from Tilly & The Buttons (Love at First Stitch) and I knew it was the one.
I made this skirt & the cute matching headband (which is actually the Brigitte headband also from Love at First Stitch) with only 1m of material. I am so pleased with this as I have a lot of gorgeous woven fabrics that would look so cute in this skirt and I only have a small amount of them.
I didn’t make any changes to this skirt expect for adding pockets (oh my gosh I l o v e in seam pockets.) There is actually a pattern piece for the pockets included in the pattern pieces, however I had the pocket piece from the Darling Ranges dress already out on my sewing table to I used that instead. They worked out really well and actually I love the Darling Ranges pockets as that are a decent size.
Watch out for more of these gorgeous skirts to appear on the blog!
